First let me say that I personally will never fall into the category that could classify as 'rich' or in jeopardy of having my income 'capped'. I do, however, strongly believe in the capitalistic, free enterprise system and a smaller government with lower and fairer taxes.
During a swing through the midwest the president went off his teleprompter and carelessly created another Joe the Plumber 'flash-back', that unguarded moment in the 2008 campaign when he told a potential small-business owner that he thought it a good idea to spread the wealth around.
"Now, what we're doing, I want to be clear, we're not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned," Obama said, "I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."
Remarks prepared for the occasion reportedly don't include the president's thoughts about how much money he thinks Americans should be allowed to make. Again he has shown his Marxist stripes.
It takes a certain kind of person to think he has the moral authority to cap other people's incomes. Especially when he and his wife somehow made $5.5 million in the first year of his presidency, a job that pays $400,000 a year. This is the zenith of hiprocrisy.
To limit what someone can legally earn is morally corrupt and economically foolish. However, it is evident that such limits surely do not pertain to Obama because after all 'he is the President' who is above such legislation . . . . it doesn't apply to him or any other of his 'fat cat' minions like Madame Pelosi. After all, "we were duly elected".
The urge to exercise authority over others and pandering to the uncomprehending public are basic instincts of the political left and flagrantly drive their agenda. It all boils down to more government control and a bigger government and, unfortunately, less investment capacity. This does not bode well for free enterprise.
Surely the public has enough common sense to 'see the light'. Then, again, maybe not.

Arizona's Illegal Immigration Law
In all the hullabaloo over the recent laws enacted in Arizona regarding illegal aliens, perhaps it is necessary to examine the attitudes and laws existing in Mexico for foreigners entering their nation.
Currently Mexicans, legal and illegal, are being joined by the ACLU, Al Sharpton and all Liberals to denounce Arizona's new laws. When considering the following, the hypocrisy becomes evident. However, I will leave it up to you and your logic to see the truth. The fact is that the US Government, past and present, has failed miserably to enforce existing laws regarding illegal aliens and immigration. Compounded 'wrongs' do not make the reasoning on amnesty 'right'.
Let's look at the laws of Mexico.
1. The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." Isn't that racial and ethnic profiling?
2. If outsiders do not contribute or enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national sovereignty and/or security." They must not be an economic burden on society and must have clean criminal records.
3. Those seeking Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement showing economic independence, pass an exam and show confirmed evidence that they can provide their own health care.
4. Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years' imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by 10 years' imprisonment. Anyone who has experienced Mexican incarceration tells of dire conditions and experience beyond comprehension. You don't want to go there.
5. Foreigners may be expelled from the country without due process and without the possibility of litigation.
6. Officials at all levels must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is required to assist in immigration enforcement. Native-born Mexicans are authorized and encouraged to make citizen's arrests of illegal aliens.
7. Mexico's National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. The National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizen's identity card. Visitors who do not have proper documents and identification are subject to immediate arrest as illegal aliens.
All these provisions are contained in Mexico's Ley General de Poblacion (General Law of the Population). There's been no movements for "comprehensive immigration reform" in Mexico because pro-illegal-alien speech by outsiders is strictly prohibited.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon has accused Arizona of "intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement." But, as listed above, Arizona has nothing on Mexico when it comes to cracking down on illegal aliens.
As the proponents of open borders and amnesty activists loudly protest new enforcement measures in Arizona, they stay deaf, dumb or blind to the strict policies of Mexico. It should be pointed out that, in this instance, Mexico is not much different from the attitudes toward immigration (legal and illegal) of virtually every other country in the world.
The Arizona law bans sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws, stiffens penalties against illegal alien day laborers and their employers, makes it a misdemeanor for immigrants to fail to carry an alien registration document and allows the police to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving they're here legally.
If those rules constitute the racist, fascist, inhumane state that the National Council of La Raza, ACLU, Al Sharpton and Catholic bishops and their followers claim, what about the international rules and restrictions imposed on foreigners around the world?
Under the Mexican constitution, political speech by foreigners is banned. Noncitizens cannot "in any way participate in the political affairs of the country." In fact, a large number of Mexican statutes enacted by its congress limit the participation of foreign nationals and companies in everything from investment, education, mining and civil aviation to electric energy and firearms. Foreigners have severely limited private property and employment rights. Existing laws prohibit any non-Mexican from owning land within a considerable distance from the shore line of any body of water.
As for abuse, the Mexican government is notoriously famous for its abuse of Central American illegal aliens who attempt to violate Mexico's southern border. The Red Cross has protested wide spread Mexican police corruption, intimidation and bribery schemes aimed at illegal aliens there for years. Mexico did not respond by granting mass amnesty to illegal aliens, as it's demanding we do. Instead it tightened its borders even more.
Meanwhile, Mexican consular offices in the U.S. have coordinated with left-wing social justice groups and the ACLU and Catholic Church leadership to demand a moratorium on all deportations and a freeze on all employment raids across America.
Mexico is doing the job Arizona is now doing — a job the U.S. government has failed miserably to do: put its people first. Arizona has taken its sovereignty into its own hands.
Congress, in its flagrant pandering for votes, will attempt to circumvent the desires of the American people and grant amnesty. What a sorry lot they are. Led by Nancy Pelosi and her minions, they are giving away our nation and placing us deeper in debt. We become less safe by the day.
When will reason and sanity prevail?

Immigration Reform
With Immigration Reform coming to the forefront of our many problems, I visualize a troubling possibility.
I don't want to make this message too long. All of the burdens that illegal immigrants place on our society and infra-structure and the enormous costs involved have been previously enumerated.
Amnesty would neither solve nor change any thing. It would simply continue, and probably accelerate, all of the problems. No administration of either party has enforced our immigration laws. The blame must be shared for the problems but not be used as an excuse for Amnesty which would only legalize the illegal and place additional burdens on all Americans.
Now it is likely that Congressional votes will hinge on protecting the existing and future Hispanic voting blocs. Little attention will be paid to doing 'what is right' and correcting the multiple problems created by illegal immigration. We now have 25 million people in search of full time employment and a 'net' financial burden caused by the illegals of over $50 billion per year. And you can rest assured that many votes in congress will be cast trying to capture the Hispanic vote.
We the People must demand that our representatives and senators abide with their moral convictions (if they have any) and not be swayed by potential or existing Hispanic voters. If they vote for amnesty they will be pandering for votes in the worst possible manner . . . and they must be held accountable for their actions.
Our collective voices must be heard . . . Now more than ever.

The Latest Lies From SEIU
Friends, here is a serious problem. Please read the following.
The Executive Vice President of SEIU, Gerry Hudson, has just stated the following analysis on the way to change the black community from opposing to supporting comprehensive immigration reform. He said in effect that blacks must be convinced that the opposition is racist:
He said, (an actual quote) “…this is where you get the black workers first, you tell them that opponents of immigration reform are …so f—ing rabidly racist, ‘til black people get scared…So, you can organize them quicker…”
Hudson, who is black, has positioned a caricature of black Americans that would impress the Ku Klux Klan. He believes that blacks are stupid and easily influenced if you just scare them with charges of racism. White and black liberals apparently believe this portrayal, because they persistently use the race card to motivate black voters. That is why accusing the Tea Party of racism has become a Democrat talking point. The liberal media has used the “angry white folks” angle in virtually every story about the Tea Party participants. They want the black community to think only about the issue of race and be very afraid. They are being told that they need not question whether spending is out of control, or if forcing people to buy health insurance is unconstitutional. The highly questionable policies of the Obama administration are lost in the misdirected confusion of racial accusations.
Meanwhile the black church community—the most organized and strongest group of black voters—is basically conservative. Both liberals and Democrats were shocked in California when blacks overwhelmingly supported Proposition 8 to ban homosexual marriage. Black folks do not identify with them. Their churches teach them that homosexuality is morally wrong. Also the black community has a major issue on abortion. Most blacks oppose it. Black Americans see abortion as an attempt to reduce the black population and an integral part of racist history. Many are beginning to ask why Democrats are so strongly committed to a practice, which they believe is evil, and has a strong impact on the black community.
Considering the disparity between the values of liberal Democrats and the black electorate, the left must have a way to keep blacks voting against their own values. The strategy is to overwhelm them with fear of the white racist. Their message is basic and evil: “Put aside the values you learned in church. Don’t let God, Christianity or your Bible determine your vote or political affiliation. You have a much bigger problem—the racist white man. He’s Republican, conservative and he hates your guts. He’s out to get you. He’s everywhere. He appears regularly on FOX News and at Tea Party rallies. And you need us—liberal Democrats—to protect you from him.”
This is the 'trump card' of Liberals and Democrats in the issue on Immigration Reform and, in fact, their entire agenda. Their workers are now in every black community spreading these lies with their scare tactics. And they have a strong ally in the SEIU. We are all aware, or should be, of the familiar ties between the White House and SEIU.
Similar efforts are now also being exerted in the Hispanic community. Everything is fair game and truth matters not.

Why Are We Here?
Who Are We And Why Are We Here?
Information in the Universe cannot die. Not one step, not one memory, not one sorrow in your life is ever forgotten. You, as an individual, will be lost in the maelstorm of time, your molecules dispersed. But who you were, what you did, how you lived, will always remain embedded in the universal computation. We are, all of us, a product of everything that came before. We are biologically part of distant relatives that existed back to pre-historic man and even before that.
Religion arose as an effort to explain the inexplicable, control the uncontrollable, make bearable the unbearable. Belief in a higher power became the most powerful innovation in later human evolution. Tribes with religion had an advantage over those without. They had direction and purpose, motivation and a mission. The survival value of religion was so spectacular that the thirst for belief became embedded in the human genome. It does not matter which religion you may practice, or if you practice any at all. Religion of some sort is as essential to human survival as food and water.
Contemplate, if you will, the universe that you now know exists. Is it not, by itself, more awe-inspiring than any God concept offered by any of the historical religions? A hundred billion (or more) galaxies, lonely islands of fire tossed like sparkling coins in a vastness of space so immense that it is beyond the biological comprehension of the human mind. The universe we have discovered is only an extremely tiny fraction of the extent and magnificence of the creation. And it does not matter how it was created because, for whatever reason, we exist. We inhabit the tiniest blue speck in the infinite reaches of the universe, and yet this speck is precious to us and is an essential part of the whole. It is ours! It does not matter what leaps of science, intelligence and technology we may experience. Eternity, Infinity and the Universe will always remain (to the greater extent) beyond the comprehensive abilities of mankind.
We must continually strive to make it better, to eliminate the greed, the evil and to use our understanding and compassion to create a better world. It is up to us, each individual, to contribute to the end result so that we may we pass on a better world to our survivors.
Under the concepts that the wonder of the universe is beyond our comprehension, now and forever, it is pure folly to assume any religion that teaches love, compassion and morality is superior to all others. At the same time we can readily recognize when one teaches fear, hate, death and submission as a path to the 'hereafter' that is inherent in all religions.
And if an established religion seeks to dominate, to overcome other religions and supplant it with their version by any means at their disposal, we have a moral duty and obligation to suppress or eradicate this malignancy posing as a religion. To repeat, it is up to us to contribute to the end result. Otherwise we will never be able to pass a better world to those who follow us on this long and continuing journey. This is happening today and the problem must be recognized and dealt with properly.
The alternative is simply too dire to contemplate.

So Many Problems
Most people, when confronted today, say that 'jobs' is the most important item of consideration.
We have many problems confronting our country.
The current administration is using an 'age old' method of obscuring reality. They simply create extensive concentration on one area -- enough to distract the public -- while, at the same time, they push through other harmful, disruptive and costly (questionable and/or unconstitutional) bills. Most of the details worked out in 'closed' meetings. Then these bills are written into massive tomes by liberal lawyers in such legalese language that even those who vote on them don't have the time to read or understand them. At the same time, massive 'arm twisting', coercion and corrupt pay-offs are used to accumulate the necessary votes.
Sometimes it is difficult to see the forest because the trees get in the way.
My blog is intended to illuminate the individual and very important problems along with their detrimental effects.
While I strive to be as accurate and factual as I can, it is inevitable that opinion (mine or that of other knowledgeable authorities) will be also included.
Hopefully I can contribute to the awakening of America in some small way. If we continue on the same sad path, we (as a Republic) are doomed to a socialist future.
This is not what we want to pass on to future generations.
We are a little more than 6 months away from Election Day 2010. Wake Up!

A License For Your Home?
If the following is true (and it seems to be), I suggest that you contact your Senator ASAP !
Think for just a moment. There are family houses that are on the Historical Register that could not meet the requirements listed below. In fact, it is estimated that perhaps as much as 80% to 90% of the houses in the US could not meet the requirements.
How about your home? My home was built in the late 1970s. Imagine how much it would cost to bring it up to the proposed standards the government is considering. This is an integral part of to the 'Cap and Trade' bill . . which must be defeated.
Consider how it would affect the housing market (like we need it to be more depressed). We, or our heirs, could never sell it without extensive retro investment. Plus, the license would be required as an ongoing requirement . . . perhaps needing periodic renewal.
Oppressive laws like this do not, and cannot, exist even in the socialist countries in Europe because many of their structures are hundreds
of years old.
It is commendable that new structures be built to standards but it is insane to impose restrictive measures like this. Our house will be a good house for another 30 or 40 years (or more) with only occasional minor up-dates and repairs.
What is happening to our country . . . and with our politicians?
How about this, folks!
So you think you live in a free country. Boy have you got a surprise coming.
A License Required for your HOUSE?
If you own your home you really need to check this out. At the end of this email is the Google link to verify. If the country thinks the housing market is depressed now, wait until everyone sees this. No one will be buying homes in the future.
We encourage you to read the provisions of the 'Cap and Trade' Bill that has passed the House of Representatives and are being considered by the Senate. We are ready to join the next march on Washington ! This Congress and their "experts" are truly out to destroy the middle class of the U.S.A.
A License will be required for your house...no longer just for cars and mobile homes....Thinking about selling your house? Take a look at H.R. 2454 (Cap and Trade bill). This is unbelievable! Home owners take note and tell your friends and relatives who are home owners!
Beginning one year after enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this "Cap & Trade" bill, passed by the House of Representatives. If it is also passed by the Senate, it will be the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced.
The Congressional Budget Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded. However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their wallets, you can be sure that these voters will get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. And Mrs. Middle Class have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.
But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually read) has many more surprises in it. Probably the worst one is this: A year from now you won't be able to sell your house without some bureaucrat's OK. Yes, you read that right.
The caveat (there always is a caveat) is that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even pre-fabricated homes ("mobile homes") are included. In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator.
To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured -- by a government approved inspector and at your expense. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be required to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act, to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements.
Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner. If you don't get a high enough rating, you can't sell.
And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act. The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (AKA the "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009") and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he/she alone determines to be in the government's best interest. Requirements are set low initially so the bill will pass Congress. Then the Administrator can set new standards every year.
The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings. However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time. Sect. 202 - Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America .
Beginning one year after enactment of the Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with its energy and water efficiency standards. You had better sell soon, because the standards will be raised each year and will be really hard (expen$ive) to meet in a few years. Oh, goody! This is such a good idea - - - I can't wait.
The Act allows the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply with the retrofit program requirements IF you meet certain energy efficiency levels. But, wait, the State can set additional requirements on who qualifies to receive the grants. You should expect requirements such as "can't have an income of more than $50K per year", "home selling price can't be more than $125K", or anything else to target the upper middle class (that includes YOU?) and prevent you from qualifying for the grants.
Most of us won't get a dime and will have to pay the entire cost of the retrofit out of our own pockets. More transfer of wealth, more "change you can believe in." Sect. 204 - Building Energy Performance Labeling Program establishes a labeling program that for each individual residence will identify the achieved energy efficiency performance for "at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act."
This means that within 5 years 90% of all residential homes in the U.S. must be measured and labeled. The EPA administrator will get $50M each year to enforce the labeling program. The Secretary of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year to help the EPA. Some of this money will, of course, be spent on coming up with tougher standards each year.
Oh, the label will be like a license for your car. You will be required to post the label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to sell your home without having this label. And, just like your car license, you will probably be required to get a new label every so often - maybe every year.
But, the government estimates the cost of measuring the energy efficiency of your home should only cost about $200 each time. Remember what they said about the auto smog inspections when they first started that in California ? It would only cost $15. That was when the program started. Now the cost is about $50 for the inspection and certificate.
Expect the same from the home labeling program. Sect. 304 - Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates at 304(d) that one year after enactment of this Act, all state and local jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

More transfer of wealth, more "change you can believe in." Comments on VAT
Comments on a VAT.
I have spent a lot of time researching this topic. Finally my education is paying off . . . but sadly at a time where this forum is my only method of expression.
Liberals in Congress want to pay for massive new spending with a value-added tax (VAT), a national sales tax on the price of goods at each stage of production. To further explain, this tax would be levied (for example) on raw goods, then on production, assembly or packaging, transportation, warehousing, distributor, retailer, etc. A tax on EACH LEVEL Popular with socialist governments in Europe, such a tax is a very bad idea for the United States. Thankfully the majority of lawmakers and even White House officials seem to agree (at least at present). Last week, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) headed a bunch of 85 Senators in denouncing a VAT in America. Although non-binding, the position of the Senate resolution accurately stated that a VAT would "cripple families on fixed income and only further push back America's economic recovery."
Shortly after the Senate vote, that paragon personality of White House Press Sec. Robert Gibbs said (or glibly insinuated) that a national consumer tax "wasn't something that the president had under consideration." In typical eloquence however, President Obama seems to be on different 'wave length' On Wednesday the President said a value-added tax on Americans is still on the table for consideration. He said, a VAT " is something that has worked for some countries and it's something that would be novel for the United States."
Numerous noted economists claim that a VAT would actually invite greater spending and national debt since it would be levied in addition to all other taxes (like income, gasoline, alcohol, etc., and most sales taxes (which are either state or local)..
According to the 'Heritage Foundation', imposing a VAT is necessarily critical to the liberal governmental control strategy. First, they propose to raise spending as fast as possible, something where our President and his minions have already been very successful. Federal spending is up almost 25% per quarter since 2008. The recent passage of Obamacare promises to keep that trend rapidly expanding for untold years into the future.
Also, a value-added tax cannot be easily detectable by the consumer, while being extremely costly. One should note that the less visible a tax is, the more revenue can be collected without resistance or voters revolt. It is natural that those 'tax and spend' liberals in Congress support this option. This should not come as a surprise. There are many conservatives and economists who have always believed the Democrats would add a VAT if, and when, they gained control of the White House and both Chambers of Congress. Their liberal causes create huge spending habits and simple economics dictate that they need to raise money to do it. Another example of 'the ends justifying means'.
There is no question that a VAT would generate massive new revenues for the federal government. However, the largest tax hikes, always harmful to the economy, cannot off-set the increasing rate of federal spending, especially on programs like Social Security and Medicare. The more money taxes give to the government, the more the 'something for nothing' crowd clamors for more financial assistance. There is never an even trade.
Common sense should tell you that reducing federal spending and reducing dependency on government are the only workable solutions to lowering the deficit, restoring prosperity and creating greater employment. A value-added tax does none of these.
Voters must let their objections be heard . . . and vote accordingly.

Dhimmitude
More of that change some people voted for? America wake up!
There is a lot of information on which the public is simply not aware. This is intended to hopefully be educational for you.
Word of the Day: Dhimmitude
I had never heard the word until now---Type it into Google and start reading. .Pretty interesting.
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.
The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States . Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking" and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this. How convenient. So I, being a Christian (along with my Jewish friends), will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude.
Dhimmitude serves two purposes: it enriches the Muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to Islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to Islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities as well as the godless Generation X, Y and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don't believe in Christ (or Yahweh) to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. They say ignorance is bliss . . . so many will say, "Sure, I'll be a Muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Where do I sign, bro?"
I recommend sending this post to your contacts. This is desperately important and people need to know about it - quickly. The Muslim population is exploding world-wide at a rate of over 4 times that among non-Muslims. Without positive action, future generations are doomed to Sharia Law.

Cap-and-Trade
The manner in which the ObamaCare Bill was handled should be firmly embedded in your mind now-- unless you have no apprehension, reasoning or common sense capacity. Closed door sessions, total lack of transparency, and a 2,600 page largely un-read and confusing bill that still has not seen the 'light of day'. And thus the government is taking over one sixth of the American economy. And now Bernanke and Geithner admit that vast new taxes will be necessary and their proposal is that the time for a VAT tax has arrived. (More about how a VAT tax is administrated later and, more important, how dismal it is for the socialist countries in Europe that use it.)
Why am I covering all this now? The reason is simple, plain and promises even more taxes on all of us in ways that we cannot control.
Those wonderful leaders of the Democratic Party are gearing up to the 'Cap-and-Trade' legislation . . . and they are planning on approaching it in exactly the same way as ObamaCare. That means 'closed door sessions' followed by thousands of pages of undecipherable legalese double talk followed by the familiar 'ram it down the people's throat' tactics.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is ready to introduce new legislation that impose a national energy tax on all Americans. The end result will be higher prices on everything you buy. I repeat, EVERYTHING!
Called “cap-and-trade” or “climate change” or “global warming” legislation, the new attempt to place a crippling national tax on America’s energy resources is being put together by Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.). Lindsey Graham is a RINO (Republican In Name Only). We all know the great liberal, Kerry, with his questionable military record. Lieberman ?? Well, poor Joe isn't really wanted by either party.
According to the new report, the trio will not formally introduce the bill in the Senate when it’s unveiled next week. “If we introduce it, it'll get referred to committees,” (heaven forbid going through committees) Lieberman said. “We want him to be able to work with it and bring it out onto the floor as a leader whenever he's ready.”
This opens the doors for more Reid backroom deals and catering to special interests on the bill instead of going through the normal committee process. Our wonderful Congress in action, building an even bigger and more intrusive government. One would suppose that Pelosi will again claim that "we must pass it so that we can see what is in it".
And things are not so well in that hallowed Senate Democrat heaven. There are already turf battles brewing in the attempt to cut deals behind closed doors followed by the headlong rush to get the massive tax through the Senate.
Even before Senators Kerry, Graham and Lieberman introduce their global warming cap and tax bill, they (and other devious liberals) are looking for every opportunity to circumvent the Committee process. Considering the success of the Democrats ability to cut deals behind closed doors to pass a health care bill, it would be folly not to expect them to use the same procedure for cap and tax legislation.
The backroom deal process is becoming the acceptable norm. And it closely resembles what is called “corruption” in third word countries.
Instead of "Hey Dude! Where is my 'free' health insurance?" -- How about higher prices on EVERYTHING?
And then, guess what? Next comes Amnesty for Illegal Aliens. Is this a great country -- or what?
Ya know -- it makes more sense with every day that passes. RE-ELECT NOBODY!

Illegal Aliens
Illegal aliens, and their supporters, are not just asking for amnesty; they are demanding it. Further they are making threats if they don’t get what they want. At a time when some 25 million Americans are looking for full-time employment, the federal deficit is approaching $1.5 trillion, countless state and local governments are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, millions of people who have no legal right to be in the country are threatening to disrupt our economy unless their demands are met . . . and soon. The growing militancy of those proposing amnesty – and the Senate leaders who are willing to agree with their demands – is a graphic illustration of the need for a strong voice in the immigration problem on behalf of the public interest.
The problem is compounded by the liberal desires for more governmental controls and provisions to provide all the welfare benefits to the illegal and unqualified. 'Do-Gooders' want to provide benefits to these who have flagrantly violated our laws, imposed great financial burdens on our society and to forgive their infractions by granting a 'fast track' to citizenship. This is pandering for votes in the most obvious and detrimental way.
This is also grossly unfair to all of those foreign born who have followed the 'legal' path to citizenship. If I were in that category, I would be extremely angry that anyone illegally in the US could easily and freely obtain a legal status equal to mine. Citizenship must be earned. As a graphic example, compare a similar status with any other country in the world.
News today reports that the State of California is lowering the number of admissions to State Universities for California residents who are otherwise qualified. At the same time they are increasing the number of admissions to foreign students. Perhaps I am missing something . . . but where is the logic for that other than they can charge (most) of the foreign students more (except for the illegals who are granted welfare status)?
The problem of illegals in our country place huge burdens on our tax dollars by the increased demands on our schools, hospitals, justice system, and increase the over-all welfare 'give-aways'. So, say the liberals, let us simply increase these demands and encourage more. That is because they know virtually all of them will become Democratic voters. And Mexi-fornia will become a welfare, spanish speaking, state with even greater inadequate penal facilities and more violence.
And Madame Pelosi is smiling.

Barack Obama has awakened a sleeping nation
I hope everyone translates the true meaning of this article. It is truly not partisan, pointing out the sins of both parties as well as public apathy over the past 100 years. Hopefully this means some real positive benefits can be realized from the current situation. Evidence shows the public has awakened. The elections this November and in 2012 will show how much Americans have become involved in our common future.

The Americans are coming!
Barack Obama has awakened a sleeping nation
GARY HUBBELL
ASPEN TIMES WEEKLY
Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100
years. Truly, he is the savior of America's future. He is the best thing
ever.
Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among
recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America 's
resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that
we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health
care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and
stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy;
unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a
decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels,
and there is a seething anger in the populace.
That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America .
Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society
like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of
fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism.
The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.
Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a
paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school
football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on
hunting trips - they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a
level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the
American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked
a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.
Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as
liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom
and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored
on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility,
the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt
was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school
having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great
numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy.
Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own
homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive
members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order
to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their
addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and "disabilities." Criminals
have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the
citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors,
contractors and business people with dubious torts.
We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in
disbelief, and we went on with our lives.
But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of
dissatisfaction and unrest.
In the time of Barack Obama, Black Panther members stand outside polling
places in black commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms.
ACORN - a taxpayer-supported organization - is given a role in taking the
census, even after its members were caught on tape offering advice to set up
child prostitution rings. A former Communist is given a paid government
position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies
are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union - whose
contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense - is rewarded
with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment
bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses
as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights
and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval,
Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would
re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.
I don't know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse doing some
business, and I stepped into the court clerk's office and changed my voter
affiliation from "Independent" to "Republican." I am under no illusion that
the Republican party is perfect, but at least they're starting to awaken to
the fact that we cannot sustain massive levels of debt; we cannot afford to
hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies; we have to somehow trim
our massive entitlement programs; we can no longer be the world's policeman
and dole out billions in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.
Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're
studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history
and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of
conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a
revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that
our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it
be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of
the original document that has guided us for 220 years - the Constitution.
Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism,
there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of
nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as
the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can
thank Barack Hussein Obama.
